When a foot or ankle condition becomes persistent, the next step isn't always another temporary solution.
RESTORE™ is Hillside Foot & Ankle's regenerative medicine approach for selected musculoskeletal conditions — combining precise diagnosis, biologic treatment options, and individualized clinical decision-making.
Regenerative medicine encompasses a growing field of treatments designed to work with biological processes involved in the body's response to injury.
For appropriate foot and ankle conditions, these approaches may offer another treatment pathway when traditional conservative measures have not provided adequate improvement.
At Hillside Foot & Ankle, regenerative medicine isn't treated as a universal solution.
RESTORE™ begins with the diagnosis — not the procedure.
Dr. Alfandari considers the structure involved, nature and duration of the condition, previous treatments, functional demands, biomechanics, and your goals before recommending an advanced treatment option.
Selected orthobiologic treatments may use components derived from your own body as part of a tissue-focused treatment strategy.
The right treatment begins with identifying the structure involved and understanding the nature of the condition being treated.
A regenerative procedure doesn't exist in isolation. When relevant, biomechanics, loading, activity, footwear, and other factors affecting the involved tissue are considered as part of the larger clinical picture.
Platelet-Rich Plasma, commonly known as PRP, is an autologous orthobiologic treatment prepared from a patient's own blood. A blood sample is processed to create a platelet-rich component. Platelets contain signaling proteins and growth factors involved in the body's natural response to tissue injury.
For selected musculoskeletal conditions, Dr. Alfandari may consider PRP as part of an individualized treatment strategy.
PRP is not appropriate for every condition or every patient.
Patient selection matters.
Regenerative medicine extends beyond a single treatment. Depending on the condition, available evidence, regulatory considerations, and individual patient factors, different orthobiologic approaches may warrant discussion.
RESTORE™ provides the clinical framework through which these options can be evaluated.
Rather than promoting every new treatment simply because it is available, Dr. Alfandari considers each option individually and recommends treatment only when there is an appropriate clinical rationale.
Advanced medicine should be selective, not excessive.
RESTORE™ may be considered for selected conditions involving:
Persistent tendon conditions, including certain Achilles and other foot and ankle tendinopathies.
Selected ligament injuries and persistent symptoms following previous injury.
Certain chronic plantar fascia conditions that have not responded adequately to appropriate conservative care.
Selected painful or degenerative joint conditions of the foot and ankle.
Certain persistent musculoskeletal conditions associated with athletic activity or repetitive loading.
A diagnosis does not automatically make someone a candidate for regenerative treatment.
The evaluation determines the pathway.
Your consultation begins with a detailed evaluation of the condition bringing you in.
Dr. Alfandari may consider:
When clinically appropriate, diagnostic imaging or additional evaluation may be recommended.
Understand the tissue. Understand the condition. Then determine whether regenerative medicine has a role.
Treating a painful structure without considering why it continues to experience stress may overlook an important part of the problem.
When relevant, RESTORE™ considers factors such as:
MOBILITY
How the foot and ankle move.
MECHANICS
How forces are distributed through the involved area.
STABILITY
Whether adequate support exists during everyday or athletic activity.
LOADING
How work, exercise, training, or repetitive activity may influence the condition.
FOOTWEAR
How your shoes interact with your individual mechanics and activities.
Not every patient requires intervention in each of these areas.
The purpose is to identify what matters in your case.
There is no universal RESTORE™ formula.
Two people may have pain in the same area and require very different treatment recommendations.
That's because regenerative medicine should take into account more than the name of the diagnosis.
The structure involved.
The condition of the tissue.
How long symptoms have been present.
Previous treatment.
Mechanical factors.
Activity demands.
Patient goals.
All of these can influence the clinical decision.
RESTORE™ is individualized by design.
One of the principles behind RESTORE™ is knowing when not to recommend a regenerative procedure.
Newer doesn't automatically mean better.
More treatment doesn't automatically mean better care.
And regenerative medicine isn't the answer to every painful foot or ankle condition.
Our goal is to determine whether an advanced option makes sense for your diagnosis, your tissue, and your circumstances.
If it doesn't, we'll discuss another direction.
RECOVER™ is Hillside Foot & Ankle's structured approach to foot and ankle pain, injury, movement, and function.
RESTORE™ is our specialized approach to regenerative medicine and tissue-focused treatment.
Sometimes those pathways intersect.
A patient may begin within RECOVER™ because pain is limiting activity. If Dr. Alfandari determines that a regenerative treatment should be considered, RESTORE™ may become part of that patient's broader care.
For another patient, regenerative treatment may not be necessary.
The treatment follows the diagnosis — never the other way around.
Regenerative medicine deserves thoughtful medicine.
At Hillside Foot & Ankle, we don't believe in miracle language, one-size-fits-all protocols, or promising that a procedure can simply “regrow” damaged tissue.
We believe in:
Accurate diagnosis.
Appropriate patient selection.
Modern treatment options.
Individualized decision-making.
Realistic expectations.
That's the foundation of RESTORE™.
RESTORE™ is Hillside Foot & Ankle's regenerative medicine approach for selected musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions.
No. PRP is one orthobiologic treatment that may be considered within RESTORE™. The program represents a broader approach to regenerative and tissue-focused medicine rather than a single procedure.
No. PRP is prepared from a patient's own blood and concentrates platelets. PRP and products marketed as stem-cell therapies are not the same.
No. The diagnosis, structure involved, duration of symptoms, previous treatment, overall health, clinical findings, and other individual factors influence whether regenerative treatment should be considered.
RESTORE™ may be considered for selected tendon, ligament, plantar fascia, joint, sports, and other musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions.
Not necessarily. Imaging may be recommended when it would help establish or clarify the diagnosis and influence treatment planning.
You don't need to determine that before your appointment. Your consultation is designed to establish the diagnosis and determine whether a regenerative option is appropriate.
If a persistent foot or ankle condition hasn't responded the way you expected, RESTORE™ offers an opportunity to explore advanced options through a thoughtful, medically grounded approach.

RESTORE™ brings together advanced, non-surgical treatment modalities for foot and ankle pain, injury, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Class IV Laser Therapy delivers therapeutic light energy to targeted tissues and may be incorporated into the management of selected painful and musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions.
Shockwave therapy delivers focused acoustic energy to targeted areas and may be considered for certain persistent tendon, fascia, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
When mechanics are contributing to repetitive stress, RECOVER™ may incorporate biomechanical evaluation, custom orthotic consideration, footwear guidance, activity modification, or other supportive strategies.
A More Advanced Approach to Healing.
